On its first media event in the country, The Geneva Watch Group in partnership with the Lucerne Group of Companies, bring its revered Director of Design and Development for Kenneth Cole watches, David Smordoni, to our shores to talk about their newest watch collections that marry swanky Manhattan style and precise Japanese engineering.

He graduated with a degree in Micro Mechanics and Robotics from École Technique de La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland in 1993, and went on to work with Piaget, Baume & Mercier and Yves St Laurent at the Vendome Luxury Group, the Certina watch at the Swatch Group, and the Hamilton collection at the Swatch Group’s US parent company.
It was in 2002 when he was hired to take on a new and refreshing role to develop an innovative collection for KCNY. It was then that he started working in collaboration with the Brand Director and the design teams in both the US and the Far East, and altogether came up with watch collections that show that KCNY is miles ahead of its competitors.
Smordoni’s contribution to KCNY is evident in its newest collection made up of the Transparency, Automatics, and the Touch Screen with Digi-Touch Technology/Analog Digital designs. 
In Sleek Precision

The Transparency Collection with see-through dials exudes opulence through quality construction and suspended dial treatments. For the women’s collection, a crystal-lined bezel adds a touch of femininity to this oversized boyfriend model. The men’s collection, meanwhile, features a multi-function day, date, and month movement with gunmetal dial, which is also available on a stainless steel bracelet.


For those who want a watch that shows strength and beautiful engineering on an exquisite design, the Automatic Collection is the perfect choice. This collection features an array of eye-popping timepieces combining style, sophistication and precise mechanics.
